What is Nanofiltration Technology?
Nanofiltration technology is the same as RO reverse osmosis filtration in terms of operation and principle concepts. The key difference is the degree to which nanofiltration can remove monovalent ions such as chloride. RO reverse osmosis filtration can remove monovalent ions at a level of 98-99% at 200 psi. However, nanofiltration treatment can remove monovalent ions at a content between 50% and 90%, and the specific amount depends on the material and manufacturer of the nanofiltration membrane. Therefore, the industry has a variety of nanofiltration membranes to choose from. Each type is particularly suitable for certain applications and may not be suitable for some applications.
