What is a pre-filter?

A pre-filter is a water treatment device installed on the main water supply pipeline of a home or commercial building, designed to remove large impurities, sediment, rust and other solid pollutants from the water. How the pre-filter works:

前置過濾器是什麼?先把它想成「水路的門口保全」

前置過濾器就是裝在主要設備前面的第一道(或前幾道)濾芯/濾罐:把「會惹麻煩」的東西先擋在門外,讓後端設備更耐用、耗材壽命更長、整套系統更穩。
你可以把它當成水路的「門口保全」——不讓砂石、鐵鏽、怪味直接闖進你的核心設備(例如 Reverse osmosis、Water softener、UV、加壓馬達)。


前置過濾器裝在哪?最常見的 3 種位置

  1. 全戶式(POE)進屋總管處
    水一進家門就先過前置過濾器,再分到浴室、洗衣、廚房等全屋用水。常被叫做「全戶前置 / 總管前置」。
  2. 淨水機 / Reverse osmosis 前面(POU)
    很多 RO 系統會在膜前放前置:通常是 sediment pre-filter + carbon filter,先防堵塞、再降低餘氯傷膜風險。
  3. 特定設備前面(只保護某台機器)
    例如:軟水機前先擋泥砂鐵鏽、UV 前先降低濁度(不然光穿不過去)、加壓馬達前先減少顆粒磨損——核心邏輯都是「先擋再說」。

前置過濾器主要在擋什麼?一句話:先擋「看得見的」和「聞得到的」

  • 看得見的:泥砂、鐵鏽、懸浮固體(sediment/particles)
    這類最麻煩就是堵:堵濾芯、堵閥、堵 RO 膜,最後表現就是「流量越來越小、壓力越來越怪」。
  • 聞得到的:氯味、異味、部分有機物
    多半靠 activated carbon(活性碳)用「吸附」來改善口感與氣味;但它不是拿來把鹽分或溶解性無機鹽「吸掉」的(這點最容易被誤會)。
