Natural gas heating systems used for initial hydrogen energy introduction and when hydrogen supply is limited. Suntec H2R-1 Hydrogen Mixer 1~20% Hydrogen Mixing | Natural Gas Hydrogen Mixing and Carbon Reduction System
The hydrogen mixing ratio is adjustable and unaffected by changes in natural gas flow rate, exhibiting high accuracy in hydrogen mixing ratio.
Introducing hydrogen energy for carbon reduction requires stable control of the hydrogen-to-hydrogen mixture ratio without modifying existing equipment.
Blending hydrogen with natural gas is a feasible way to reduce carbon emissions from combustion, but the challenge lies in maintaining a stable and safe hydrogen blending ratio regardless of changes in the output of the gas equipment, and ideally without having to modify existing boilers or burners. Suntec H2R-1 is designed to introduce a low proportion of hydrogen blending (1~20%) into existing natural gas equipment.
The operating mechanism of Venn effect mixed hydrogen
H2R operates on the Venturi effect: natural gas flows through a convergent section, creating a pressure drop that draws in hydrogen and mixes it with the natural gas. The hydrogen-to-hydrogen ratio is controlled by a pneumatic control system (servo controller + dedicated hydrogen control valve); in a controllable (variable output) device, the manually set hydrogen-to-hydrogen ratio can be maintained constant, unaffected by changes in natural gas flow.
H2R-1 Design features of low-proportion hydrogen mixing
Autonomous operation, retrofittable to existing natural gas facilities, requiring no modifications to boilers or burners. Equipped with a dual hydrogen and natural gas pressure monitoring system to ensure safety, with high accuracy in hydrogen blending ratios. Maximum inlet pressure is 70 mbar for hydrogen and 25 mbar for natural gas. Compatible with natural gas, LPG, hydrogen, and biomethane.
Application scenarios and system pairings
H2R-1 is suitable for natural gas boilers and burners that introduce a low proportion of hydrogen mixture, and is a gas-side retrofit device.
The hydrogen mixing ratio is adjustable and unaffected by changes in natural gas flow rate, demonstrating high precision in hydrogen mixing technology.
| Type | Autonomous natural gas-hydrogen mixer (gas-side unit, non-pumped) |
| Hydrogen mixing ratio | 1~20% (Adjustable) |
| Operating principle | Venturi effect: Natural gas experiences a pressure drop as it passes through the converging section, drawing in hydrogen for mixing. |
| Adjustment method | Pneumatic type (servo regulator + dedicated hydrogen regulating valve) |
| Flow adaptation | In a modulated (variable output) device, the set hydrogen mixing ratio is not affected by changes in natural gas flow rate. |
| Compatible gases | Natural gas, LPG, hydrogen, biomethane |
| Maximum inlet pressure | Hydrogen: 70 mbar; Natural gas: 25 mbar |
| Safety monitoring | Hydrogen and natural gas dual pressure monitoring system |
| installation method | It can be retrofitted into existing natural gas equipment without requiring modification to the boiler or burner. |
